My First New Car! 5SPD EX Passion Berry Pearl! Already have a question...

LOVE my new Honda Fit and I'm excited to join the Fit Freak community! I already have one question -

As I said, I drive the manual. Is there a way to (after putting the car in 2nd gear, pulling up the parking break, etc) turn off the engine but leave the car in accessory mode? Right now it seems to turn the whole thing off and I have to reboot. Sometimes I'm listening to a radio show or podcast and would like to turn the engine off, not idle, and finish listening. Am I missing something obvious?

Thanks!

****oops, 6 speed! Still getting used to that.

Not that I'm aware of. I just commented the other day to my wife that I wish it worked like the fiesta in that you can turn off the car but the media continues playing until you open a door. Honda, are you listening?

Lol I had the same issue. I got used to waiting for the radio show to go to comercials then I turn the car off and then choose accessory mode.

With the CVT, instead of putting it in Park and turning it off, if you put it in Neutral then turn it off, the engine shuts down but the car stays in accessory mode. I wonder if there's some concoction of things (e.g. whether the brake and/or clutch is depressed, whether it's in gear or neutral, etc) you can do so the MT does the same?? It would be helpful, not only for the radio but also for Bluetooth.

Isn't it gorgeous in real life? I love mine!

Anyway, the only way, with a manual, that you can leave the car in second while not moving is to keep your foot on the clutch.

If you want to sit in the car to finish listening to something, put it into neutral and definitely engage the parking brake.

So with the MT, you either have to shut it down, then turn the accessories back on or listen to the radio with the engine running?

and it is a BRAKE not break.

My Caravan stays on until door is opened. I find it annoying. When I turn the key to off i think everything should turn off. Oh well, in the good old days car radios we just a piece of crap AM that could not pick up other than local station. Oh wait a few of mine AH Sprite and Mini did not have radios.
