rear roofline spoiler

It is on all three trimlines now. What is the purpose of the rear roofline spoiler? Styling? MPG? Shade?

All U.S. spec Fits now have the convenient "rear sun shade" as I call it.

Seriously, how much "spoiling" can it do at the speeds a Fit travels?

I don't have any documented proof, but my guess would be for aerodynamics to improve fuel economy. The turbulent air coming off the back of the car will create drag. When Subaru redesigned the Impreza, they added a small triangular nub on the rear of the hatchback roof rails, they claimed it added 1 MPG at highway speeds. Also take a look at long haul trucks, many of them have fold out flaps at the back of the trailers to clean up the air flow leaving the trailer.

It's a Kammback design.

I agree. It's to manage air separation from the roof in order to improve fuel economy.

And it also serves to keep the rear window clean. Note how many SUVs and vans w/o "spoilers" or little lips at the end get dirty to the point of being useless.

It's annoying that it sticks out enough that a gas station squeegee can't clean that top area though...

I didn't know gas stations still had squeegees.

They do in my neck of the woods, and pretty much every gas station I've visited. I have a pet peeve with a dirty windshield and back window. I also just got this in the mail today and am curious to see how it works: Foldable Squeegee Portable Window Cleaner Scrubber Sponge Windshield Home Car - Walmart.com

I confirm that the 2016 Canadian DX does not have a rear spoiler. More spoils go to the US!
