Removing Fit Sport rear hood spoiler?

I'm new to the forums(purchased my M5 Fit Sport Black w/gray interior 2 weeks ago) and thinking of ways to help with weight reduction and mpg. The car handles great and gets insane mpg, but I would love to get better if I could. I already removed the rear seats, spare tire, and jack and have seen gains of almost 2mpg city and highway with that removed. I never drive with more than 1 other person in the car and it's pretty much just a commuter car and I have triple A so I was ok with that. Any ideas on removing the rear spoiler? I heard it noticably hurts highway mpg and I don't like the look of it really. Thanks for any help ahead of time.

since removing mine and adding the CF Duckbill....no difference in MPG. still average between 38-40. it's all about acceleration IMO. i went from 33 mpg to that just by changing my driving habbits.

It's like what a few pounds. I think going on a diet would give you a better return then removing the wing and plugging the holes.

LOL, that's funny because I am actually doing weight lifting right now and trying to put on weight. Guess it's not worth it then, anything other then what I have done weight reduction wise that's somewhat worth it or could add to my weight savings already?

I don't see anything else to remove to save weight. Anything else would cost more money then the gas savings would return.

Removing the spoiler is easy. Pop the clips off, remove the bolts.
Removing it is pointless as it weights probably 2-3 lbs at the mods.

And it looks dumb without it.

Removing the rear Magic Seats saves about 80lbs. It looks smooth without them too. Carpet flows nice, almost like seats were never there.
