What is the best 1st generation Fit to buy

I am going to get a used Fit, and wondering what is the best to get. What should I look for and what features should I check. Also what has been everyones experience with that year of model.

It's either base or sport model. Get the sport model for the wheels and oem body kit, it looks a ton better. Past that it's manual or auto. Car is much better as a manual.

My .02 cents, of all the paddle shift autos I've driven the one in my 07 Fit Sport is one of the more useful, it behaves like a manual in sport mode and you can use the paddles to adjust the cars speed in long downhills or in curves, I've not owned an auto for over 25 years but this one ain't bad.. Still an auto but for my commute its nice to just go in to radio coma ...

I have a 2012 Sport and I love it. I like how it looks, and I like how it drives. It's super convenient the way the seats fold up and down and it's been very reliable except that the parking lights and headlights have had to be replaced before 40K miles. It's also comfortable for 4 bigger/taller people-the 6'4" member of our family can fit comfortably into the front seat.

Most people on here seem to think that the 2.5 generation Fits are superior to the 2nd gens.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a 2.5 gen Fit.

Our MT (Blaze Orange Metallic) Fit Sport is the best '07, but it's NOT for sale, sorry.

I'm happy with my 07 with a manual.... Fun to drive, lots of power, handles well for what it is. They have their quirks but nothing major compared to some other manufacturers (cough cough...ignition switches). Easy to work on.

It has tons of room inside and a good sized back door. The seats fold very flat and I can haul 2x4's in it. I haven't been inside any of the newer generations but they are looking more car-like (bubbly) to me and seem smaller inside.

If you do alot of driving, get the sport for the cruise... No cruise in the base.

Bizarre difference between the '07 and '08: '08 has TPMS, '07 does not. If I had a choice, I'd take the '07. The TPMS sensor batteries are bound to fail over time, and the system implemented is not a very good one - tells you a tire is low but doesn't tell you which one or how low. $60 apiece to replace a sensor at Costco. I'd rather save that money toward other things and not have a dash idiot light on when the sensors go. Just my two cents.

We have an '08 Sport.

Have just dealt with the big TPMS failure idiot light...because checking tire pressure manually is easy.

That said, GD's are great cars, GE's are great cars....GK are great Toyotas.

TPMS became a requirement on all 08+ cars sold in the States.

Take it to a mechanic.

Its probably coil packs, but I'm not looking at the car right now.

That said, there are a million threads on misfire issues, do some searching OR take it to a professional.
