i am torturing myself as to whether to pay an extra 1300 smackers for the sport when the only must have feature is the paddles. i mean, no other car even has a 5-spd auto much less paddles, so why dwell on it. but on the other hand i wish the roads i drove on didn't demand an auto at all, but c'mon - the 5mph freeway creep, stop and go traffic, stopping every 1/10 mile in the city - i'll kill a clutch in no time.

If you live in the city an auto is the way togo. I think that is what we are seeing in this poll are the number of people who live in or near a big city like SF, LA, NY, while I live an hour and a half from Portland, OR which is a postage stamp compared to the cities listed above.
If I had to have an auto then I would get the sport so I could at least think I had complete control over the car.

before voting I knew that there would be more auto transmissions. It looks to me that the dealers had more autos coming in then manuals. It is almost as if the dealers are promoting the autos more... I am old school and bought a manual. I never have owned a manual that you could shift into 5th gear when driving 40 mph

Sport AT. Since this would be my DD, I wanted an AT. I usually only get manuals.

I didn,t in my wildest dreams ever think I would buy another 4cyl vehicle, much less an auto, then I drove the Fit.
Paddle shifters are awesome
In a different time I would buy a 5speed but my knee is not too great after an accident, also I would have burned up a set of tires by now and maybe a clutch:
