Arrow Day the Fit was Born

New Member. Placed deposit last week on Sport MT Nighthawk Black Pearl (rocks!) Just a name next to an inventory number next to a date...August 03...the date this more-special-one than any other is (was) manufactured. Will the dealer come through (September maybe)? '98 Odyssey farewell, damn I'll miss those arm rests, adjustable upward seat, and icy cold chiller colder than frigid snow (the desert equalizer)... FITting goodbye. Today the day my Fit was born.

Questions I have: 1) Is the MT really faster (0-60)? 2) Is there an armrest solution (aftermarket)? 3) Is there any doubt about Black being the best color!

Congrats! You can get an aftermarket armrest from forum vendor Zeta. Check out the Vendor threads

There are many aftermarket armrests for the Honda Fit. The one I got was this one. It seems to be the same armrest as the one that Zeta offers but it has a nice leather top (instead of vinyl) and is considerably cheaper.

It's the exact same armrest. I have one from that seller, and I'm sure it's that it's not real leather at all.

Real leather or not, the price looks right. Are you happy with the arm rest, looks and function?

Now if only a Fit to fit it on!
Patience, virtue, they say.

Thanks BargainSeeker / crimsona

I ordered the armrest recently from an auction advertising it as leather. After receiving it, I took my armrest apart and cut out a small sample of the material that covers the top. I then pulled apart the sample and looked at it under a magnifying glass. What I found was that my armrest is covered by a two layer material. A thin outer layer of genuine leather is glued to a thicker inner layer of foam rubber. Since this armrest seems to be available in various coverings, the one you bought may or may not be covered in the same material.

The armrest looks very nice. The leather top has a nice feel to it. The lid opens and closes solidly as does the cupholder on the back. The inner tray is smooth plastic (not carpet lined). The compartment is not large enough to hold CDs unless the inner tray is removed but it is large enough to hold a cell phone and other items. My main concern with the armrest is its long term durability. The leather covering is fairly thin as are the walls of the compartment. I don't think it would stand up well to serious abuse but I do think it will withstand normal use. Overall, I am very happy with it for the price. I will keep it until and unless it wears out.

Personally, I can't tell you how well it fits in the car because I am waiting for our Fit myself (July 10 build date). I have heard from others that it fits well.
