2017 Civic Hatchback

Any Fit owners thinking about the Civic hatch?

Depending on the final specs and price, I'm at about 98% on pulling the trigger once the Sport Touring is available...

I've been in the market for something a little larger while still maintaining good MPG.

I just moved out to the suburbs and now have a 20-ish mile interstate commute one-way to work and really been looking into adaptive cruise and collision warning (traffic sucks going home).

The new Civic really fits the bill for me while still being small and efficient and keeping the hatch for versatility.

I'm really digging the Sport Touring as I shouldn't have to make any mods as its got the 12 speaker 550 watt system and LED headlights already. Only thing I'll need to do is tint and rear LED turn signals (I think...)

For those interested, what is appealing to you about the new Civic hatch?

Definitely see the Odyssey rea window in this 2016 civic 4door.

I think Stevie Wonder would flinch if he seen the new Civic hatchback. Other than that and the weird dash and center console layout (presuming the Civic Coupe and Sedan dash transfer over), the car seems like it could be an interesting daily driver with underrated 1.5T and 6 speed manual transmission.

The dash and console reminds me of the Ford Focus for the 2013 model year which is not very appealing in visual terms. In addition to that, the gauge cluster and steering wheel controlso are poorly laid out in my opinion.

It seems that Honda has left their simple and functional Japanese roots and gone with an odd mix of Euro-American styling.

Yep agreed. It looks so hardcore boy racer and even like it's been riced out already.
I was expecting small changes...like the old Type R's. They didn't scream boy racer and just added a clean aero kit and other small touches.
The new Type R looks like a computer designed it for aero. I feel like it will age horribly.

Anyways we will see...maybe it will look better closer to production and in red.

I'm more debating on a SI now since it's not as boy racer or a Fit. I just feel the Fits are way more rare and cool.

Civics are everywhere...well in Canada. They are #1 selling car here haha. So I'd only buy the Civic in the Si trim +

Hey I just did a test drive today on an LX. Certainly not the Fit -- it's quiet, the pickup is great and the suspension is so smooth. But the back end with that spoiler is SO ugly.

I am intrigued. My wife's 2013's lease is up and we can buy it or lease another. The new Fit finance rate is high and the monthly payment on the Civic HB LX is not much higher than that of the Fit. One concern I have is the smaller windows, the visibility, and the blind spot in the back.
