Fit vs. Civic Hatckback

Per discussions on "why buy a Fit when you can get a Civic," this article is pretty good on the subject:

http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.cf...AUTOS-05-04-06

On the way into work, I waited for a Civic SI to pass on the right, and as it did the driver rolled the window down, shouted "I love your car!" and gave me a thumbs up.

This article didnt' have anything to do with the civic hatchback?

I would've gone with the civic hatch if they offered it here. the CDi Hatch is amazing, there's a Fifth Gear review on it which is pretty neat if you search google video

I just wish they would import the Civic from the UK...obviously with left hand driving modifications... It is a five-door hatchback, but looks like a 3-door hatch...has Magic Seats in its boot and the nice 1.8L 140hp engine... I would pay more for that...plus in UK you can upgrade the civic with all sorts of different things like sport suspension, etc. etc. Oh well long live the fit untell the Civic Hatch returns...then I will be first to trade my fit in...

Well, seeing as how Honda in their infinite wisdom decided again that Americans do not want a Hatchback Civic, the Fit is the ONLY choice for a hatchback Honda car this year.

Not even a choice in the US right now, unless you buy a used car.
