New Car & Driver Tests Fit Sport AT

...and get a 0-60 time of 10.4 seconds!!

Wow..I didn't know the manual was that much faster!! Seems like seat-of-the-pants tests were a little off...

basically, he's stating that in S mode it's 1/2 sec faster. Still at 9.8 sec's, it's way off V-tec/asia's average of 8.7 sec's with multiple runs. Also falls short of Edmunds test's of just over 9 sec's.

Thanks OP!

The most interesting part of the article is that they're actually quite happy with the Fit AT. "It's far more entertaining than competing automatics, and it's well suited to urban driving."

Personally, I could care less if the Fit does it in 8 seconds or 12. :)

wonder if you all saw this thread and video:

MotoringTV got 0-100k (62mph) in 8.2 sec with the automatic!?
After the break-in 600 mi I'm eager to hook up my g-tech and see what it says for my sport AT.

As I read the article, the 10.4 seconds is using the paddle shifters, and is 1/2 second faster than the results in D mode.

The article says at the top of the third column, when talking about driving in 'S' mode :

"....shifts are brisk, and using the paddles yields quicker acceleration, reflected in our test results, a half second to 60 mph." (my empasis)
The test results show 10.4 seconds, so that leads me to infer that the acceleration in D mode is 1/2 second slower, i.e. 10.9 seconds, than the posted test results.

I'm glad I decided on a manual - now if it would just get here..
