What is the horrific sound my 2007 is making?

What is the horrific sound my 2007 is making?


At about 20 seconds I rev it. It sounds like I have a supercharger when I give it gas. Only thing I know that is wrong with it is AC doesn't work at all.

It is probably the bearing in that idler pulley at the top there. I would pull the belt and spin the pulleys to see if they make noise or feel rough.

Might be the A/C clutch bearing, that would be the second guess.

It's REALLY hard to tell from the vid, but inop A/C is a big clue.

Here's underneath I'll pull the belt today and see if I can figure anything out.

So replacing the ac compressor should solve both of my problems?

You could replace the compressor or just the clutch. (When our clutch failed, we found that it cost the same for an entire reman compressor as the clutch alone, which was only available through a Honda dealer.)

Idle pulley. it's a cheap part that you can replace yourself.
