2007 JDM Honda Fit Transponder key and chip
Hello everyone, I assume this is the right place to post this. I have my original 2007 JDM Honda Fit two-sided transponder key. Unfortunately it is getting a little long in the tooth. I'm also about to relinquish this car to my son so I want more than one copy of the key. I've done a lot of research and I'm at the point where I know where I can affordably get a transponder key and get the two-sided key cut. However I just want to verify something with the community. Does the North American 2007 Honda Fit transponder key, use the same chip as the Japanese (JDM RHD) transponder key. I am really hoping it does I just want to confirm the chipset and hopefully they used the same chipset in the North American and the JDM right hand drive. Thanks to the community in advance and for verification.
Well apparently it didn't have a transponder but, while I was at the locksmith he opened the key to see if it had a transponder and I was able to unlock the doors and start the car with the non electronic side of the door. However new problem, the button built into the key no longer opens and closes the doors remotely ...any idea why...the battery was working so I don't think it's that..... Is there something the locksmith could have damaged when he opened the key?
