Something emptied the oil pan

I got an oil pressure warning light in my 2009 Honda Fit Sport and discovered that something had failed and emptied the contents of the oil pan onto the top of the transmission. I removed the air box and found oil pooled in spaces atop the transmission below the transmission shift solenoids; the whole bottom of the car is soaked.
I can find no obvious source of the leak and have no idea what oil sources could have failed in that area. Is there a high pressure line exiting the block or head that could cause this? I have no manuals and have been unable to source a diagram of the oil system in the car.
Can anyone help here?

Whoa, that's a new one. You might want to post the question in the 2nd gen section. There's some wizards on here that I'm sure could help.

Any good car meets in Stockton? I'm there all the time.

This is the first time I've posted anything, can you tell me how to go about moving my post to that section?

I'm not sure about moving it. You would probably have to just copy and paste everything into a new post.

With the engine and transmission mounted side by side, I'm not sure how the engine "emptied the contents of the oil pan onto the top of the transmission", so it's a mystery, unless it was blown up there as you drove. The Gen2 has an automatic transmission filter fluid line that runs under the airbox and above the transmission, but if it's engine oil you're finding, I'm stumped.

You might begin by refilling your engine oil, spraying degreaser around and cleaning things up. Then drive a bit and check around before a mess is made. That way you may be able to spy where the leak is.

Found the problem; very strange but not unique, apparently

The problem turned out to be a broken head bolt located at the trans end of the block on left side (of the engine, not the car). Replacement was straightforward; head checked for true three ways from Saturday and all well. I have heard of one other Fit dumping its oil out on the trans but don't know about resolution.
