There is a Monster truck thingie going on this weekend! So if you are going, there has been a change in the entrance for our event.

Enter at gate G.. This on the frontage road on the east side of 880, just south of the Arena.

I managed to spin mine in Candle stick park.. now that is doing something for a FWD.

After all, everyone out there is competition with themselves. We all try and improve our skill sets and we all make dumb mistakes.

Remember to get there in time to register, walk the course and have your car teched for safety. You'll need an approved helmet (can be borrowed).

Or you can just drop in, visit and enjoy the event for a start! Say hi to the old fart driving the 59 car.
mrFroge,
I do not think there are dumb mistakes in AutoX. Just smart people pushing the limits under safe conditions improving their driving skill and getting a kick out of it!
I enjoyed every minute of it for years in '90's down in LA in my CRX and learned a lot!

"Old fart"? Age has nothing to do with it! My father was an old fart, while my grandfather was a teenager!

mrFroge, is there a good chance that there will be some "fun runs" at the end even in the rain? I would greatly appreciate if you could do some convincing by taking manxman for a ride (thinks he might be too old for AutoX) and show Tool what it is all about (just getting his license next month at age of 16).

I will volunteer for course work if it is not raining cats and dogs!

Anyway, it will be great to meet you and see everybody else from our NorCal gang, again. Our meets are not frequent enough looks like.
AutoX events might just take care of that!

so, people show up at 7AM right?

I was looking over the schedule, and I'm so tired, that I am not sure what time to be there at.

I have a helmet, just in case it's required. and I'm wondering what else is required...

ugh, I'm so going to sleep early.

Also, I'm bringing my brother and gabriel this time, and They can watch on the sidelines... Nick doesn't want to drive my car, fear that he may make a mistake, and baby would love to see you guys... he wore the H emblem for me, I'm sure he would like to find out what it's all about.

Can't seem to figure out how to register my car, and I guess tomorrow I will just be showing up , and watching how the 'pros' do it.

I'll figure out what to do and bring for next time.

I'll most likely be there at 8am.

Already picked out Gabriel's clothing, he's got his hoodie, hope he doesn't decide to take a bath in the rain water... he will get sick with hypothermia...

Don't need a sick baby with me this coming week.

Anthony, I can't wait to see the little big men!
We'll take care of him if you end up competing.

rawr, it blew that on my second and third run it was wet...

Oh wells, learned a lot; slow down a lot, and punch the gas in first/second gear out of the corners.

AutoX pics!

It was great to watch!
Can't wait to get back into action for the first time since 1995!
Soon! Soon!

Weather was a mixed bag! Sun, rain, sun, rain! Windy, too!
You can tell from my pictures, I was ignoring white balance settings! They were on cloudy, so white cars got "washed up"! Sorry!

mrFroge was great! Even with in stock class and A/T tranny he had extremely respectable time! Announcer said so multiple times! I believe in 51 second range! He schooled many faster cars. It was great to watch the Fit go! Blue wheels look hot on white car on track! Way to go!

Award of the day: Anthony (CuTeBoi) for balls out first attempt at AutoX!
He gave it all on stock tires! Maybe he was trying too hard since in stock class no rear sway bar is allowed! He plowed through! MrFroge's dedicated AutoX soft compound tires were no match for him. Lack of experience too, but that is why he is doing it on the first place - to get better at it!
Phenomenal effort! He'll be back!

Anthony, Gabe is adorable! I am going to steal that kid from you! Bring him again! We just can't stop talking about him.

Finally, official times are not posted yet and we left in the middle of the last running group. Track set up was awesome. Not to tight not too open! Great equalizer. Four fastest car's were ranging in price from less than $10K (with all out mods) to over $150K, all 3 drive trains (front wheel, AWD and rear wheel drive), all engine configurations (4,6,8 cylinders) and types (turbo, NA,....) and were covered under a blanket at the finish line! Within 2 seconds!
Fastest was Porsche GT3 in 41 second range,
Corvette in low 42 second range,
Civic and Evo third and fourth (can't remember in what order and what times)!
AWESOME!
