I'm going to shop for a 2DIN head unit for the Fit.
Any suggestions on what brands/models to get?
Something that doesn't cost me an arm and a leg
but puts out a decent quality of sound. Impossible?!

why do you want a double-din headunit? Unless you're looking for a DVD player or a navi headunit it's not necessary to get one that takes up both slots. You cant judge a book by its cover, plus i dont think there are many doubles, i've seen some but they were tape/cd combo, that was a while back tho so i dunno if they still sell them.

i wouldnt know what decent brand performs well but i'd recommend checking out audio sites like Crutchfield.com and Caraudio.com

 

Do you want something with Navi?? I'd get the Avic D2 (pioneer) or the D3. I think you can get the older D2 model for cheaper now.

 

In my opinion, regardless of the functionality of both, I think
a 2DIN looks a whole lot cleaner than 1DIN. It sits flush with the
dash kit. I'm not too crazy about Navi but DVD and sound quality
are what I'm aiming for. Yea, Crutchfield is where I got the dash
kit from and they got some decent head units there but not up
to my liking.
