okay, now that i have read all of your posts, doctordoom....would you say it would have a positive or negative effect on our MPGs?

 

My guess is that it will either have a negative effect, or no effect at all; it depends.

If you can adjust to the more sensitive throttle, then you probably will not see any decrease in your fuel economy. It makes sense that if you have a more sensitive pedal you will be more likely to gas the car harder than you need to whenever you want to accelerate, thus wasting gas. But like driving a new car, you could probably get used to it within a few minutes. I saw a drop of 1 mpg during the week that i did the testing, but that difference is too small to make any real conclusions, and i also only drove with it on the car for 20-30 minutes that week. I'd suggest that if you want to keep your MPG up, you just turn off the controller instead of putting it in ECO mode. This is because i found ECO mode to open the throttle more than stock.
