the chances...

what are the chances in SoCal for getting pulled over without a front plate? when i bought the car from the dealer, they didnt even bother drilling two holes for the front plate...but did tell me to bring it back to them once the plates come.

now, i think the 09 fits look better without the front plates...i wouldn't want it on the corner of the dash...looks too ricer.

i was thinking, if i DO put it in front, i would put it on the front side next to the driver's fog. any mods on doing that?
thanks

In LA, chances are pretty high. My bf got stopped a couple times to the point where he just left it on.

After a quick search..voila!

It's for a GD, but the GE should be quite similar.

My GF has been running no front plate on her RSX-S for almost 4 years. She drives everywhere from SD to LA to the IE and has never gotten pulled over for it.

I think as long as your not doing something else worth being pulled over for, you should be ok.

I know a bunch of other people that have been running no front plates without problems... just my .02

It all depends on where in SoCal you're talking. I live near Downtown LA, loads of cops stopping people whether or not you "did anything worth being pulled over for." On the contrary, I also live in Irvine, where a good percentage of people are running no front plates, but the cops don't care.

It all depends. Not to be sexist, but us girls also do get off easier with cops a lot of the time. Lots of my girl friends run stop signs here all the time, get pulled over and get off with a warning, while a guy friend I was with, CLEARLY stopped, but still got ticketed. :/ It just all depends I guess :/

EDIT:
LOL random thought! But this thread reminds me of the "SoCal Pulled Over Thread" we had MONTHS ago! x] I remember someone was pulled over for a bobble head or something :P

I've never had a problem with running no front plate on any of my cars.

I've been pulled over in my civic because its "RICED" out and then they see everything is within legal limits and then they try to catch me on the plate but i say im putting it on tomorrow haha

you're just testing your luck if you roll without front plates in socal. it just depends on the cop and whether or not he/she feels like pulling you over and busting you for it. some people are fine for a long time without their plates, others are fine for a few years then get busted. others just get busted like their first week without the plates. you never know. but personally, my 4 friends who've rolled without front plates in socal have all been busted for it at least once each. i put mine on because i don't wanna risk getting pulled over.

Its been covered basically, no front plate = higher chance of getting pulled over.

yeah, I just posted a thread needing info on how to solve my first ticket.

A dad got a ticket for tint, but no front plate was mentioned before I got my car,
I got a ticket just now, with a violation for tint and no front plate.

So if you have no front plate, and thats it, then they probably wont bother, but if you got multiple stuff, theyd probably be swayed more to give you a ticket for it... sigh.

either you put it on or you dont. you dont need to drill two holes into the front bumper. the holes are already there on the bottom and its held by a bracket

Oh yeah i have been pulled over for it twice.

They asked why i didn't have one and I kindly/politely told them I had it in the back seat and that the dealership had not drilled the holes into the bumper for me to mount it. Knock on wood they said that I need to get something to mount it or drill holes for it and let me on my way.

i think you do need to drill 2 holes right? i have the bracket from dealer...but there's no hole for the bracket to lock onto...

and yeah, i have tint as well...ugh.

how much is a fix-it ticket for front plate? i usually drive with my front 2 windows down anyways so cops wont see my tint.

no you do not need to drill any holes to install the OEM front plate bracket...

there should be two rectangular slits on the bottom of the bumper part of your bumper... two bracket things slip into there and lock into place, then the actual holder can be bolted onto those... if the dealer says they NEED to drill... go to a different dealer... because it doesnt need to be drilled

Make sure you put some sort of soft, protective material inbetween the plate holder and your front bumper. If that top portion is not screwed into the bumper it will rattle and scratch the paint. If you're sure you'll never take it off again I guess it isn't a problem.

i haven't had a license plate on the front of any of my cars since 1999. i was pulled over once in my EP3 - though i think i was just being targeted sicne it was like 2 am and no one else was on the road and i was driving a modified car. cop said; "didn't you see me there, why are you speeding?" but i wasn't speeding and i told him so. so he did a walk around just gave me a warning to put the front plate on. i never did.

i think he was just bored and hoping i'd admit to speeding.

I'd say it depends on which city you happen to be in.. I actually got a no front plate ticket when parked right outside my house where I lived.. I didn't even know that was possible
