A/C Problem

A/C Problem
Hi, I recharged my A/C in 2017, which corrected the intermittent A/C problem, then in 2018 the problem returned, and now in 2019, the A/C does not kick on at all. I checked the compressor and Low-port pressure, the compressor does turn on but when it's on, it does not change the low-port pressure, which is in the red zone (100 PSI)? I know in the past when it worked, when the compressor was on, the pressure would drop back to the 30 PSI range. Does this mean my line is totally out of freon (should it read high or 0 on the low-port for this scenario?) or some other problem? thanks

Don't know anything about A/C but I've "heard" that as soon as your A/C stops pumping cool air, do not use it. The warm air means that yes, there is not enough "fluid" in the system and that also means that there is not enough oil in the system to keep things lubricated. If you continue to run the compressor without enough fluid for cooling, you'll burn out the compressor????? Good luck.

Turned out to be an A/C clutch clearance issue (too much clearance due to corrosion and wear). Finally fixed this longstanding A/C issue. See this thread: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...-c-clutch.html
