ECM/PCM Reset and Idle Learn Procedure

I am basing this thread off of an old one from 2006.

Based on KKIM's post, I performed the Idle Learn Procedure. I have a few questions.
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...procedure.html

When I disconnected the battery, did this reset the ECM/PCM or do I need an HDS tool to reset this?

For the Idle Learn Procedure I then followed the steps of turning the ignition to ON for two seconds. I then turned on the engine and held the RPMs at 3000 until the engine coolant temp reached 194, or approximately 6 minutes later. I completed the procedure by letting the engine idle for 5 minutes more.

At no time during load or idle did the fan come on. Should it have? Should I have waited for the fan to cycle a couple of times during either step?

This process is similar to what Scotty Kilmer does:
Is there a significant difference between the two?

Based off observations from driving around, the car seems to run smoother and more quietly than before. I am hoping to see my MPGs go up, but that is yet to be determined.
