09 Fit Sport loud rumble concern??
09 Fit Sport loud rumble concern??
Hey everyone,
So I currently own my second fit, my first being a used 2007 sport. When I bought this one, it had 170,000 miles on it and I could tell it needed the driver side wheel bearing replaced.
Did that.
Was better for a while, but ive been noticing this vibration/ rumble that got louder and louder. It’s a nauseating noise. Seems to be coming more from the front driver side.
I thought maybe it was motor mounts. So I replaced all three motor mounts (almost 200k miles, definitely needed it) and replaced all suspension parts on both sides (inner and outer tie rods, sway bar link, control arms, and did both cv axles because I busted the boot trying to get the control arm off…) and had it professionally aligned. All of it seems to have been original, so it was worth doing.
Now, it’s been a week, but I still hear this bad rumbling/vibration, but it’s definitely quieter from the engine. The alignment was quite a bit off since I had it, so the tires have worn funny of course. I’m thinking the tires need to be changed because I honestly can’t think of anything else that could cause that much vibration in the car. All the moving parts are new except the tire and rims. New brake pads as well (caliper is the same).
Does anyone have any suggestions? Thoughts, tests I could try before spending a lot on some new tires. I thought about trying to rotate the tires, but my back tires are almost bald. Thanks for any help! I absolutely love these cars!
