I just got a used 2008 manual Fit. Only during the first start of the day there is a quick ‘whiring’ noise for about one second after I start it.
The noise sounds like it is ramping down immediately.
It sounds like it is coming from in front of the passengers area.
Any help diagnosing is VERY appreciated!

 

That sounds like the mechanism that briefly connects the starter to the engine is hanging up. It's a part of the starter called the solenoid or Bendix. The common fix is to replace the starter but if it just does it first start of the day it will probably continue to work just fine albeit a little noisy for a while yet.
