I'm 60 miles from any Honda dealer. My FIT just started making noise when driving forward... no noise in neutral or park. The noise goes away on a left turn. The noise sounds like a combination of a gurgling and a scrapping noise. I've raised the hood with car running and no noise... reverse no noise, go forward NOISE.

Not sure if I can do that. It only makes noise when driven. I'll go see what I can do.

 

any specific side where the sound is coming from?

 

The sound seems to be from the front of the car. It seems to be centered. I' am going to take a short spin and have my wife use the camera to get a sound file (hopefully) and Ill attach if it works.

OK. I think I got it right this time.

 

could be a wheel bearing, especially since noise disappears when turning.

 

good job getting it to work. i hope others here have a keener ear than I, all i hear are tie fighters flying and darth vader.

 

CV joints often make bad sounds when turning but don't when going straight... as they fail. Especially if its eating the rubber boot.

 

Agree maybe a wheel bearing so make the trip to dealer.

I know what a CV joint sounds like and not even close. I took the car to a local mechanic I have used in the past. He checked it out and he found a old rusty 3 inch nail stuck in the shock and rubbing on the wheel. WOW!!! And was I ever relieved! Thanks for all the replies.
