Wink ODBII code reader compliant???

Hey, Im trying to get a ODBII code reader.
I first bought the cheap one $40, then I bought the $100 one.
Both dont work , but both work in my Mazda 626, and my friends VW. The guy I bought from has been great. He will let me return it.

Here check it out:eBay Motors: NEW UNIVERSAL CAN OBD2 AUTO CODE READER SCANNER OBD II (item 190107933173 end time May-03-07 13:30:00 PDT)

Why wont these work in the Fit??? I looked under the hood and it is written ODBII. I plugged it like the other cars, under the steering wheel, ( I believe thats the only place)

Which kind will???

Thanx,
Coldstorage

a scangaugeII works. i know from when i sold OBDII readers at work, they're made for specific cars...we sold like 5 different types, mostly variations of domestics--"ford f-150 96-2000, chevy silverado 97-2002"--then only one (making the cars it was programmed for very limited) "import" scanner. you will need to check the box for what cars it is programmed for, or if there is possibly a software upgrade online.

my hopes is that from the time i sold them till now, they should have more scanners, so look at places that sell them.

Actron scanners only in my garage. Once i pull the code, google it for your Honda's list of OBD2 codes and it'll tell you the specifics.

The Scangauge reports the Fit's protocol as "CANLF", with the other CAN variants it supports being abbreviated CANSF, CANLS, and CANSS. I am guessing then that its L/S stand for long/short and F/S stand for fast/slow, which would imply that the Fit uses CAN 2.0B framing ('long') at 500Kb/s ('fast').

Exclamation ELM327 Diagnostic tool (OBDII)

I'm thinking of buying ELM327 Diagnostic tool (OBDII) for Honda Jazz 1246 S (2005).

Will this work on this car?

What about the Equus 3030 Innova Diagnostic Code Reader for OBDII Vehicles. it says it will work on all vehicles built after 1998. True, or not ?

I got a OBD CAN gauge and it worked in all my cars except the fit by just plugging it on and turning the power on in the car. On the Fit I learned that it would only work when I started the engine, also. Maybe you have tried this or not.... worth a try.

I had all link errors also, I tried starting my engine but still got a link error and also the display was covered with all dark blocks, but if i turned it on an angle I can see it was waiting...

Bottom line is I got a link error...

was there a special order of steps to follow when you got it to work when starting your engine? I have a 2013 honda fit sport...

Thanks

No, actually. I just plugged it in and started the car. At that point it started reading.

Ok thanks for the speedy reply... I'm going to try it one more time and another car... If it doesn't work I'm going to return it...

Thanks

If you’re just looking to monitor OBD values, error codes, fuel economy and such, I can really recommend Performance. (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.performance)
The app is free and you run it on your phone.

I switched to this recently as I really like it. It’s super easy to use. Just plug the adapter in the OBD port and the app will find it and connect.
It reads hundreds of values in realtime from the car including trouble codes.

I’m using it with an ELM 327 BlueTooth adapter I got from ebay for about $20.

Either way it might be a less expensive way to see if your car is OBD2 compliant. It should be, all cars manufactured after -96 are required by law to be compliant.
