2007 Fit Base Windshield Wipers

Does anyone else notice how loud the wipers are when they are wiping the windshield? These are the factory wipers which came with the car.

Unless it's POURING rain, the wipers constantly let out loud farting sounds. It's very annoying.

Does anyone else experience this? There are specially formulated "wipes" which clean the rubber wiper, but this does not improve the situation at all.

Particularly annoyed however completely satisfied,

James

It is funny that my first test drive in a Fit Sport was during a rain storm in March!~ I thought who thought these up for windshield wipers?

They are definitely different but seem to do a great job of cleaning off the surface. I haven't noticed too loud of a farting sound but hey - just one more thing that makes our Fits a little unusual.

Wipers are farting... That's funny. I use Rain-X on all my vehicles which means I very rarely use the wipers but when I do it's at very low speeds and it does what you're talking about (breaking contact with the windshield momentarily). It happens when there is little or no water on the windshield so they grab and release over and over.

I guess the Rain-X must help to stop the noise because I see them do it once in a while but I don't hear them. Try putting some Rain-X on your windshield.

If that doesn't help and it really gets annoying my brother sells the new Rain-X Latitude wiper blades which I have on both my Jeep Grand Cherokee Ltd. and my 4x4 Pickup truck. Since I installed them I have never seen or heard them do it. I can put you in touch with him.

Lots of posts elsewhere on this board regarding wiper noise - many people (including me) have seen great results with simply reversing the wiper blades - more details and how-tos are elsewhere.

Interesting idea. I'll have to remember that if my wipers start farting.

I had a question, kind of off this topic a little bit.

The wipers that came with the car, went bad...I had them for awhile you know. Anyway, I went to autozone to get the new blades, and they're just the little thin ones. I kind of liked the fatter ones that were originally on the car, is there anyway I can get those again?

You can get wiper refills (just the rubber part) from Honda so you don't have to replace the entire wiper arm.

try to clean them with rubbing alcohol, when theyre dirty they do that. thing is, the 06 tsx came out with those wipers and they made big noise too, then honda came out with new wiper arms with different spring tension.. may be theyll do it for our cars after

I got some PIAA Super Silicone wipers from TireRack, and they're awesome. Not one sound or smear. They also come with silicone wipes for your windshield (like Rain-X). Wiper Blades

Old Indian trick ..

Lift the wiper arms off the windshield one dry night. Take some rubbing alcohol and clean the blades very well. Then put a little bit of clear silicone on a rag and wipre it onto the blades. not smear it on.. just enough that the blades look "wet" wipe off the blades with a clean rag then the next morning. no more wiper skip and smoother slide across the window.
