Aye, that blue painter's tape will probably come off with no residue when you're ready to remove it. Did it work pretty well? I know the Fcuk Bugs will be back in a matter of weeks, and those things are murder on the paint job.

masking tape

When you go tot ake off the masking tape will it mess with the paint any?

no it will not. lots of people do it for driving cars to shows and what not when they dont have trailers...works great.

When I lived in Louisiana, I knew a lot of folks that spray Pam on the front end of their cars. I don't know how that affects the paint (never tried it), but I knew many that swore by it.

I've seen people put normal saran wrap on the front ends of their cars to ease the removal of bugs. If you're from the south, you'll understand why during lovebug season.

What you do is take a spray bottle of water, and spray down the front end of the car, wipe clean, then lay the saran wrap on top. It works pretty well, and it leaves no residue. Not exactly as hearty as the stuff the OP mentioned, but it works well for bugs.

boooooyaaa from grand rapids mi,
I like the click wrap idea, but it might not stay on, they sell a sticky clear hood protector I found at wallys long back, I have a roll I need to find it,
it kinda thick and it will not be easy to match the contours of the front bumper.

that or license plate spikes for those people that back up too much, but pillows sounds more fun xD

I use baby oil on the front before a long drive. Still need to use bug & tar remover & a mesh sponge/water rinse after the drive. Darn Florida lovebugs! Can anyone recommend the best nose mask for a 2009 sport Fit?

for the plastic wrap residue issue, there is a wonderful product called Goo Gone that gets rid of any sticky substance and you can find it in many convenience or hardware stores at a mere dollar for the travel size

I've never found anything that Goo Gone could remove that WD40 couldn't remove better. WD40 is cheaper also and in nearly every home already.

I've seen alot of threads with guys using black plastidip on their rims, so I found some clear plastidip and thought I might try that. I have tried some other small things to see how it went and on to really well, and real easy to take off too. I thought I might do my front end at some point. My bra is starting to see some serious wear after 4 years. I figure it will work well for rock chips as well as bugs/tar. I would imagine touch ups would be a breeze too!
