when i change my filter, i'm actually cheap and find a spare house return air filter and cut it up into size and tape it so that it's stable, then throw that into the car.. depending on how big your return air filter is, you can make like 6 cabin air filters... (thats how many i can make with mine.)

Pollen Filter Service,
we have this honda fit, as been called hond Jazz in Uk and Europe.
One of the thread says, with regards to pollen/cabin filter, if your area is not that much dusty, lets say a clean countryside maybe, he took off those cabin/pollen filter and since have feel that the air circulation from outside is 25percent better and fresher rather than having a filter replace from now and then.
What do you thinl everyone.

I wouldn't remove the filter, its there for a reason and just replace it annually or more so if required

Thumbs down pissed!!

This is so irritating!!! I just paid $96.42 for them to change these two filters!! No wonder they were so bloody nice to me! They knew it was highway robbery!!
This is what I get for being a gullible female. But at least I found this forum due to this & am going to look up EVERYTHING before I sign my life away.
The best revenge on these guys is a finely tuned machine that is lovingly cared for.

Old, but going back to it.

The cabin filter is just placed right before the ducting branches out to the different vents in the cabin, so I don't see why removing it would do any harm.

Oh noez you might get more dust and pollen in the cabin!

Cars never had these till the late 90's, early 2000's and everybody survived just fine. I'm pretty sure they were just added so dealerships could charge $100 on a $2 cost item.

Also, better airflow to cabin?

I run mine and replace it like I should, but if it got blocked and I couldn't find a replacement i'd just take it out.

Great advances have been made concerning cabin air quality. These filters are not simply for dust and pollen, air borne highway pollutants are filtered as well. I pulled mine after 30K and noticing a marked reduction in vent flow. It was nasty!! Last oil change I picked up an air and a cabin filter at the parts department. In my area I can not seem to find these filters on the shelf for my FIT.

The air filter was dirty, but not as nasty as the cabin filter - cabin filter is HEPA.

The service writer asked if I wanted them to change the filters and when I told him my intention he agreed it would save me close to $50 doing so and didn't flinch.

Just changed mine on the 08 Fit Sport I bought last weekend. Car has 50k miles and I don't think the filter was replaced at all. It was gross. Replaced it with OEM Honda cabin filter though!
