Yeah so this morning i noticed a pretty nice group of scratches on my front right side bumper. My guess is its from the curb at the end of my driveway. ( which by the way is a pain in the ass to get out of sometimes but safer than parking on the street. ) Anyways i was just wondering if anyone knew a good way to make it not look so bad. Ill end up buyin a body kit in the future but i just dont want it look bad for the time being. Any help would be great.

 

First off, im not an autobody person. It all depends how deep the scratches are. If they are just minor scratches...I would apply some rubbing compound to the area. This may require at least 30 min of applying and buffing off. Then, use a polishing compound to repair the clearcoat...a rubbing compound will cause swirls in your clearcoat. Finish off with a coat of wax.

If the scratch is deeper...I would just use a touch-up paint pen.

see if your nails catch over the scratch. if it does you probably dug
into the basecoat or maybe even through the primer. you'll have to
touch it up.

if it doesn't catch, you can use some ScratchX on a foam pad and
use decent pressure to get the scuff off.

my wife bumped my black legacywgn into something white (pillar or
something) and it took a long time to get majority of the scuffs out
using a random orbital with griot's polishes (#2 and #3). the scuffed
corner was a size of a soft ball.

then i faced the bumper towards the sun to reveal the areas that
were either lacking basecoat. used a factory touchup pen to fill
up each line. dried it for a week, went back and used some scratchX
to smooth it down by hand.

i can't tell it was scuffed unless im like 2ft away looking for the scratch.
