Any alternative to repainting bumper?

I forgot to apply my parking brake last night and my car rolled forward into a wooden fence that put several scratches on my bumper.

I went to a body shop and they said they would remove the bumper and repaint it for $500.

A lot of moolah for some scratches. Buffing it would I think would improve some of it but I don't think it will completely go away. Touch up paint will look bad as there is too much of a widespread affected area.

Can anyone recommend some less expensive alternatives? Thanks!

sadly i think thats the only alternative for now. i scuffed my lip the day before my bday =[

its mainly the labor to tell you the truth. cause they have to sand down your bumper.

Vinyl, rich people use it on their balling cars. it's cheaper than painting

What's balling cars? Can you explain what you're saying about vinyl?

vinyl car wrap like the rolling advertisements. with the right vinyl and application, it can shine just like a paint job. i think it would be very difficult (if even possible) to match your paint though.

Oh, that won't work well since my scratches are hairline but tons of them. It's like rashes rather than a single line.

i went to a specialty paint shop and had a spray can made of my exact orange. it was ~$30.00
i had used it on a few places.
if you know how to sand and paint correctly it shouldn't be an issue

maybe you can consult an auto detailer. i've seen some pretty bad swirl marks and serious paint imperfections that have been brought back to showroom quality at the hands of a detailing pro

repainting a bumper should not cost $500.

i would remove the bumper cover from the car, take it in,
and have them paint it for $75-100 cash. pick it up 2 days
later and mount it back on the car.

in fact, that's wat im planning to do on my front bumper if
i find hairline cracks down the road due to a recent fender-
bender i was in. bumper took the impact well (not dented)
but there's a lot of surface scratches from the other guy's
bumper.
