Front Seat Removal

Anyone want to share some tips etc. on how to remove the front seats? Looking for a little guidance before I start butchering my car when I go to install my Bride seat later this week. I'm going to use the existing seat belt, so what do I need to do to transfer it over to my new seat?

very easy. Just remove the 4 seat bolts of course. Then make sure us disconnect the 3 harness' under the seat. Yank the bad boys out, un bolt the set belt mechanism from teh seat. there should be a spot on your new seats to mount the seat belt. dont forget to hook the seatbelt harness (from under the seat) back in that way you dont get the seatbelt light/beeping. thats it. hardest part is pulling the seat itself out and putting it in.

Yeah I'll be unplugging the battery as a precaution. Any fixes for the airbag light yet? I read on a Scooby forum that they use 3 Ohm resistors...

Coo, thanks for the heads up Chris. As for the resistors, what kind of resistor would I use? I'm used to the usual cylinder type with wires sticking out of either end...is that the correct type or is there some other specialty type?!?!

LOL dammit I'm checking google and different cars are using different resistances. Dammit, I hated electrical engineering, now it's coming to bite me in the arse!!! Subie guys are saying 3 Ohm resistors while the Mini guys are saying 3.3 Ohm resistors...anyone know for sure?!?!?!

OK, anyone who's installed a seat, does the seat come with the bolts to attach the seat to the seat rail, or is the rail supposed to come with it or am I supposed to use some stock bolts?!?!

Resistors come with a wattage rating as well as in ohm size. Applications have a minimum safe wattage rating (to avoid overheating and fire). A 12 volt system (figure 14 or 15 volts) with a 20 am fuse in it would use a maximum of 300 watts so the minimum wattage rating would be 450 (1.5 times expected wattage – for margin of safety).
