Car Boging HELP!

Ever since i hit about 30k miles on the car, it seems to struggle to get power at around 2-3k rpms almost like boging. I took it to the dealer before warrenty was out and they said its probably because of the air intake and HID kit which was on the car pretty much when the car was new. Now that the things are off its still doing it! Has anyone had experience with this? any remedy to this?

Is your filter dirty? And your running an aftermarket intake so is your map sensor all nasty looking?

When was the last time you changed the air filter?
Sounds like it pretty dirty. The HID have nothing to do with it; they actually draw less power (I think) than the normal halogen bulbs.

What about your spark plugs? I'd pull em and take a peak, just to see if they're all fouled or if they have oil on them. They should still look pretty clean at 30k though

thanks guys for all your input. the dealer was giving me the run around that the HID's were drawing too much power from the motor and at that point i just left and tried to see if anyone else had the same problems.

hmmm I thought when you did an intake swap on this car you had to
do a reset of the ECU? Is this not the case. (dontcha just unplug the batt err something?)

Did you remember to plug in the AIT sensor when you put the stock airbox back on?

With the aftermarket exhaust did you use the stock CAT or was it a complete aftermarket exhaust from headers to muffler? I mention this because on my 01 monte carlo my CAT got clogged and bogged like crazy, also didn't want to shift but that was after some time riding with the problem. Just a thought. It shouldn't be with only 30k though.

Try seafoaming the engine to see if that helps. It will clean out any gunk and deposits from the valvetrain and engine block. You;ll have to do an oil change right after though.

don't like seafoam.. did it through that brake booster line on my 03 altima.. shook the engine like crazy when coughing stuff out.. for me didn't notice difference.. but close to that time afterwards.. transmission front seal started leaking.. think the shifting of seal maybe caused it.. i'm not an engine expert.. i won't use it again.. not worth it..
