hey im getting estimates from a few places for my clutch/flywheel install. one place is a friend of my moms bf, got a garage and place to do it. hes wondering how many hours it says it will take for the install(i think he can look it up, but i would like to find out asap so i can compare prices and pick somebody).

i tried googling for info but cant find any. anybody have this info? thanks.

The shop I used to go to was 300.00 to pull and replace tranny, plus labor cost to do the clutch and any fluids that were needed.

Its going to depend on your local labor rates.

yeah we got the labor rates, just waitin for find out what the estimated time on replacement is to calculate the cost... the helms manuals give you an estimated time right? i was hoping somebody had the helms manual for the fit or something and could let me know. i am going to try and call the dealership and service department and see if they can tell me anything

Most honda/acura transmissions are about 2-3 hours given the proper tools, and if you're doing it on a lift. Having said that book time is usually more than that. I've seen Acura techs from a rack away do a trans in 45 minutes.

Four hours max for a rookie mechanic on his first try. But who knows what your own shop will try to justify. Good luck- seriously, GOOD luck.

if you are mechanically enclined and have all the right tools, you should be able to do one in 3-4 hours tops.

I did a complete motor/tranny swap without a cherry picker in 5....first time too.
