Claybar Liquid Applicator?

I got this claybar when i was on a trip in a different country, and i know that they use a liquid to be applied with. Does anyone know what it is, or what substitutes I could use?

Car soap (diluted to normal strength) or quick detailer.

^^ +1 on the quick detailer. Meguiar's has a smooth surface clay kit that comes with 2 claybars in a plastic case, a bottle of quick detailer, a microfiber cloth, and a samle of quick wax...

I just used it on my NHBP and it's amazing stuff. The paint felt like a greased up piece of silk sliding off the ass of a marble statue of a baby ice skating with astroglide in his shoes...smooooooooooooooooth

+2 on the car soap. It's acting as a lubricant so make it stronger than you might for washing. Detailing spray will work but you're wasting cash!

Car soap is not proper lube for claying. It can deteriorate (sp?) the clay bar. You should always use quick detailer for clay lube, lots of it. The best one available in stores is Meguires Ultimate quick detailer. The best ones I have used have been Chemical guys clay bar lube/quick detailer and Optimum quick detailer and gloss enhancer. Either one will work just fine.

soap!

Soap will work fine! It's acting as a lubricant for the claybar. Use your car wash specific soap in a much higher density than you would use it for washing. For washing or claybarring the soap is acting as a lubricant. You can buy a "detailing spray" for this but you're wasting your money! Can we say PLACEBO EFFECT! It does nothing but if it makes you feel better DO IT!

Soap will work fine as a lubricant, but it will wear away your clay bar. There is no placebo effect when you see the results first hand. Clay bars cost much more than quick detail spray and quick detail serves many more purposes than clay lube.

You have a way with descriptive words....

I stroke my car while I sit at red lights, that's how smooth it is. Oh that sounds naughty, doesn't it....

Don't use Car soap as clay lube. As state before. Its going to deteriorate the clay bar and is going to leave the finish with a soapy residue. Which dust get attracted to fast. Distilled water works just as good. You could also dilute Qd with distilled water.
