Great DIY! thanks. Should be sticky!
Installed Tanabe shocks

Everything went fine but One problem, after installing the springs. While i drive the front springs make a popping sounds(metal hitting toghether) i know it
does it on the bottom part of the shock where it rests on the spring plate.
What im seeing is that it shifts forward and back while i drive. So when i go over a bump its makes the pop noise.

Any ideas how to fix a moving/shifting shocks?? Thanks

the rear shocks where a peice of cake!

Did you tighten the shock assembly? It shouldn't move if you tightened the top nut on the top hat. On a side note which part of the bump stop do you reuse? The top portion that is about 1" short or the longer piece?

Used the longer peice of the bumpstop.
That may be it just tightenig the nut on the shock hat.

Great DIY, +Rep given. Installed some Tanabe GF's and they are great! Thanks TurboMan for the sweet price (great seller BTW). I honestly didn't think that the handling couldn't get any better after installing the sway bar but I was mistaken.

I used another jack under the knuckle to raise the knuckle in place. Lets hope your axle is not popped not.

Feel at the end of the axle, there is a boot. If the axle popped out, you may be able to guide it back it by twisting the hub with one hand and guiding it back in with you other hand by feeling through the rubber boot.

Do the Tanabe GF210's install with the logo right side up or upside down on the fronts?
Thanks

Hi All,

Thought I'd try out this mod on my car...man what a mess it was, the sway bar links (anti roll bar as honda UK call them) were heavily corroded and i had to cut the bolts to these off. Drove a few days with the link disconnected on one side, made a metal clunking noise like the car was falling to bits.
Got the parts from Honda but they supplied the wrong nuts, the thread was wrong!
Anyway ordered bits online from 'bay' but when I tried fitting the replacements today and the bolts to the links are 12mm dia and my originals are 10mm!! so cannot replace the drop links unless i ream the holes (which i didn't fancy doing). Managed to reuse some of the old nuts and a uncut link for now. Anyone want sway/anti roll drop links with 12dia end bolts?
Tofuman - Looking at your springs your 'oem' springs, they have more turns than my OEM ones. I installed Eibach and needed spring compressors as they had way more turns than both your springs, so am curious if I have the correct springs supplied.
Think this is a long enough first post. This guide has definately been useful to get me modifying, cheers

I did mine a few days ago and this DIY was a big help! Thank god i did'nt pop my axle The links on the sway bar were a real bitch to put back... and now i have to replace one... so if anybody changes there springs on an older Fit that may be have a little rust, you should be prepared to replace these. Best way i found to put them back was to tuck some soft material between the axle and the sway bar...
As for the rear springs, i have yet to install them... i tried loosening the 14mm bolts but they won't move... i tried with a wrench and an electric impact gun so far... next, air impact! I did try to jack about an inch under the spring but it did'nt help...
Does anybody have anybody have a tip for this?

Thanks
