Front Rotor Removal

After 60k miles and 2.5 salt belt winters its time to replace the front brakes. Problem is the rotors.

I got the caliper and mounts off. I got the screws that hold the rotor to the hub off. The problem is the rotor will not come off wheel bolts. It comes out just a bit and then gets jammed up on the wheel bolts.

Any suggestions beside a puller or a bigger hammer?

So the rotor will actually come off the hub? Try spraying WD-40 to help lube things up. It took most of a can to get the rotors off of our '01 Cruiser, so don't be afraid to use alot of it.

And yes a rubber mallet might help, but only if you lightly hit it, not wail on it.

Ok, i'm not looking at my brakes now but i seem to remember there being two other holes in the rotor hat besides the ones for the rotor retaining screws. if you thread a bolt into each of these other holes and gradually tighten each bolt and then the other, the rotor will be forced off. Does this make sense when you're looking at your brakes?

Correct, I'm not looking at mine either but the size needed is 8 x 1.25 if memory serves.
