ScanGauge II is pretty good for that stuff. Otherwise a dedicated scanner will be your best bet.

Don't know complete out put on the scangauge but the Actron's are good.

To know you're just going to have to research it.

You can always sell the Tom, probably right off this forum. Not to bash it, but the 1490T is a much nicer unit on it's own, with a 4.4" wide screen, add the dongle and it's over the top_

yeahh, ive got the tomtom 630 GO, its actually pretty nice as far as the GPS goes, and being able to take voice commands, which works wonders.
but the fact that garmin has this makes it much better to me...not very often do i need to know directions, but i find myself very often wishing i knew diagnostic info.

Nice to know that if the CEL comes on you'll know what's up. Seeing engine temp and battery voltage can really be handy.

Thing I'm not sure of is if it shows all the codes that might appear but not trip the CEL.

I'm gonna plug it into the 96Deville I sold to the neighbor's son. I know it has ride control codes and it would be interesting to see if it picks them up. Gotta track Nick down.
