Brake light comes on during hard cornering

I autox'ed this weekend and on my 4th run the Fit started throwing a the BRAKE light when i was cornering hard. For about 2 days afterward the light would also come on when the handbrake was all the way down and i could deactivate it but placing a beer cap under where the handbrake met the console to elevate it slightly. It has ceased doing this but still under hard cornering the light will pop on and beep. Anybody have this experience? Thanks

AutoCross or RallyCross?

No matter...

the BRAKE indicator could be coming on because of the handbrake lever/switch OR the brake fluid reservoir switch.

If it's the reservoir, you may be low on brake pad. Fill the fluid A LITTLE BIT but check out pad thickness at the first opportunity.

AutoX actually even though that pic is from a rallyx. I got 45k on the clock and original pads so i would think its time to refill my brake pads.

I was told that if the brake fluid is low it will also turn. Have you checked that?

this can happen... generally as your pads wear, the fluid level goes down as it has more "space" to press...

but also check pad thickness...

^^agree^^ Check pads first. If needing replacement do it before topping off fluids. apeanimal points out why. I'm thinking there's a bit of wear on the rears as well. Parking brake lever should not be that loose. How many clicks before it's doing its job.
