Emergency Brake Troubles !!!!!!!

Recently I noticed that my E-Brake light does not turn on when the E-Brake is engaged. However, at start up the E-Brake light flashes along with all the other warning/symbols. The E-Brake works fine though. I'm just a bit worried that the light doesnt pop up. Anyone know what could be the problem??

It sounds like it's the switch in the emergency brake mechanism or possibly wiring to it. It's not a terribly important thing to worry about IMHO—the main purpose is to prompt you to release the parking brake before you drive off—and it should be relatively simple and inexpensive to fix.

I'm assuming, from your description, that the brake light doesn't continue to flash or illuminate after the car is started up. (If it does, you may have low brake fluid or some other fault in the brake system that should be checked out.)

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing there is a plunger switch somewhere in the e-brake linkage. If so, perhaps it's gummed up; a little shot of WD-40 or contact cleaner might do the trick.
