The Mini D2S only comes with the projector. I had to buy the shroud seperately. It ran me about $150 shipped for the shroud I wanted which is the only biggest shroud they had. The lovely thing about the Mini D2s or Mini H1 is that it is made mainly for H4 application housings. So your set to go. Installation will be just like mine. No cutting (unless its the shroud) required to mount the projector. Best investment for headlight upgrade.

If you think about it. If they ever made projector headlights for the GD3 it would probably cost $250+ and have bad fitment. While for probably the same price you can pick your own HID bulbs and ballast and have perfect fitment. Plus you get props for doing it yourself. Truthfully I don't know why ppl get those HID kits since they burn out and overall suck. Why not get OEM ballast and get the H4 casper shield to run D2S bulbs and you won't have to worry about it crapping out on you. True even oem ballast will give out sooner or later, but from experiece much later than sooner. Mine is still going for years already.

Damn ! This is a great DIY write up! I'm so wanting to do mine! If it's this easy, I got to find myself a extra set of headlights and go to town! And the retros of course! Great job

To do the Trimming?

What tool did you use? Or was it just an X-Acto knife?

For what it's worth when I did my retros I used my brand new oem headlights and only put the oven (gas) on 170. Had to pry a little harder but gave me better piece of mind for the plastic.
it took about 10-15 mins at that temp.

The Woodlands! Which Village do you live in? I've lived off and on in The Woodlands since 1992. Cochrans Crossing, Alden Bridge and Sterling Ridge...how I miss the old haunts.

Back on topic, Which shrouds did you guys go with? I don't want to do much cutting. I'm finally going to start piecing together the parts to do this since the sun is starting to chip the paint and crack the lenses on my OEM lamps.

Thanks for the write-up. I'm going to use this as a guide for when I finally get around to doing the retrofit. Besides forced induction or an engine swap it is the last thing I can do to modify my little GD3.
