I got excited about this post thinking we would be talking about a better blade as the stock wipers on the Fit are downright terrible....

I think some older European and Japanese hatches (20+ years ago) had a wiper that parked high, maybe a Retro thing....dunno?

I have to ask, as I am not sure what this gains, similar to one of the many horrid "modifications" that the redneck kids in Tennessee do to Honda Civics, only they remove one front (passenger?) wiper and having single wiper on the windshield that parks in the middle?!?

Having been around single wiper cars in my life (Citroen CX, W124 Mercedes, etc) they do not cover the windshield well as those cars were designed that way, so I am not sure what they are trying to accomplish with this?

I think they do it to make their car look more like a race car. Off the top of my head, I know Aussie V8's run w/ the single vertical front wiper on most cars, and I know I've seen it in other series' as well. How they think a Neon will be like an Aussie V8 though, is anyone's guess.

So this is more than a Tennessee thing? I have not seen it in other parts of the US. The kids here absolutely trash 5-10 year old Hondas with "modifications" that mostly involve strange bumpers, removing interiors and rear door handles(?), but adding stickers and primer.

But wait, when I was 18, the first car I owned was a battered 1972 Citroen GS with rust and primer. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose?

My age is starting to show I guess....
