Need Advice

I need some advice please...I have a 2010 Honda Fit. The clutch is going out and I cant get anyone to help me. Last I checked a clutch should not be going out at 17640 miles. I drive my children to and from school, and well that is about it. I do not race and I am not hard on the car at all. Any advice...thanks for your time.

You could try to contact Honda Corporate, but a clutch is a wear item so I doubt they will help you.

Isn't the car under warranty?

Even if it's a wear item, I think it's highly unusual that it would fail so early (otherwise there would be MANY topics here about clutch replacements).

You should bring the car in to the dealer for an evaluation. There might be a leaking oil seal or something that is causing the clutch to slip. THAT would certainly be covered.

What are the symptoms you are experiencing?

PS Congrats on owning a Manual Transmission Fit!

The clutches on the fits should last the life of the car with these lame clutch delay valves slowing down clutch engagement.

Well there was no warning at all, usually you can begin to feel your clutch slip. I was stopped in the middle of a hill, turning left. When I tried to go there was a grinding sound and then that wonderful burning smell. I pulled the car over and turned it off for a minute. When I turned it back on I was able to go, though the clutch does not feel the same.

Ok that means the clutch didn't wear out. Something is wrong with either the clutch master cylinder/cylinder or the throw out bearing most likely. Your warranty covers that. If you take it back to the dealer make sure you tell them about the sound it made and don't say "I think the clutch went out". That's like saying "I think the brake pads are worn" its not covered.
