Please HELP with headlight flicker!!
I have a 2007 Fit and I have seen on here where some people have had the flickering of the headlights and other lights in the car but I'm not sure anyone has it as bad as me. Every time I am accelerating my headlights and all the lights in my car flash at roughly the same RPM as my engine. The faster I rev the faster the flash. It would only do it every once in a while at first but it has started getting worse and it is happening more often. Now all the lights in my car including the dash lights and the brake lights are doing it now. I have seen that some people say that this is normal I do not believe that this level of flashing is normal. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
How old is the battery? Even a 6 month old battery can have defective cells that produce a low voltage and flickering.
I'd bring the car in for a battery load test, and perhaps an alternator output test (which should be 14.5 - 14.7VDC, BTW)

I took the car and had it tested the altanator and battery tested fine. I reved the motor while the tester was hooked up and the guy said he didn't see any spikes in the voltage. If it comes to it I'm gonna start with replacing the cheapest part first
Could be one or more bad diodes in the alternator.
Alternators make three phase AC which is rectified into DC. When diodes go you lose phases which makes a more lumpy waveform which makes things flicker. I've never seen an auto shop tester that can detect a blown diode - you really need an oscilloscope.
If one diode fails the others have to work harder in order to pick up the slack.

Since the battery tested OK it is most likely the alternator, as batteries are easier to check then alternators.
Easiest battery check is to let it sit for a day or two and then start it. If the battery is healthy enough to start the car it is unlikely it is causing the flickering.
If there is an alternator/starter repair shop in your neck of the woods they might do a more comprehensive check of the alternator for you.
If there is a scrapyard around you might be able to pick up a used one from an '07 or '08 (don't know if the newer ones are the same) for cheap.

Eventually, the battery DID die on that car...and now, no more flickering.

On Hondas, the charging system saves gas by letting the car run "off the battery" for periods of time. You can see this effect if you run an OBDII diagnostic recorder like a ScangageII or Ultragauge. The voltage will be 14.5 V usually, but for periods of time it will be 12.5 V. When the system switches from 12 to 14 V you may discern a flicker.
If it were just a small flicker when it changed I wouldn't even be worried about it but it is so bad that I am afraid that I am going to get pulled over because of it. Its not like the flicker when the ac cuts on where it flickers that once where there is a huge pull of electricity it is intense like a freaking disco ball or strobe light flickering.
Could also be a weak/bad ground, have you considered doing the big 3 to your wires? Which basically upgrading the size and quality of your battery grounds and the positive wire from your alternator to your battery.
See this thread for more information on your "suggestion".
