Cheap cabin and engine filters?

I have a 2007 fit sport and would like to know where do you guys buy your cabin and engine filters? I need to get them replaced. Car has 75k miles and i got it replaced at 30k several years ago at dealership. I'd like to do my own this time. Does anyone have instructions to replace the cabin filter? I know where the engine filter is but not sure how to replace the cabin filter.

There's a video.

For the filter, I use any brand available at the parts store.

Edit, I have nothing to do with the brand and/or website in the video, just found it to help this guy out.

I currently own 4 cars that have cabin air filters. I cut my own from a large sheet of generic HVAC filter media I got at Home Depot for about $10. Each filter change costs me about 50 cents. It's not HEPA-quality filtration, but I haven't noticed any difference (I don't have allergies, so YMMV.)

Also, get into the habit of changing that filter every season if your wallet allows it.

My lord... what was easy lol.. I always thought that it was a pain to detach the glove compartment.. especialyl when something fell behind it!
I'll replace all my filters from now on.

I have allergies so I may want to stick with the Hepa ones, hopefully I can find cheap ones.

thanks all!

use a charcoal aftermarket cabin air filter ($7) and OEM Engine air filter ($18). Easily available from Ebay sellers (lots of Honda dealers selling OEM parts at a discount).

i bought a 30" x 24" piece of 3M home hvac filter for 15$ at wally world, and cut pieces out of it to fit the filter holder. the filter with the 1500 rating is supposed to get everything. should last quite awhile.

I looked for a cabin filter at local auto parts stores last night and was surprised no one had it in stock. Price range to order one was $30 to $40
Twice the price of a Civic cabin air filter.
Do any other ones interchange? I guess I'll order one from Amazon for $15

hvac filters work great, been using them in other cars for years. Annoying when you gotta do cutting etc. but if you get a big sized filter you can keep cutting away at it and get multiple filters outta it for next time you change it.

Glad I read this post, mine was a clogged mess, looks like a science lab.
Got a new one, this is the easiest cabin filter ever to replace.
Thanks!

I'm at almost 90K and I think the last time it was changed was right before I bought the car at 52K. Went to advance auto parts, they had nothing in stock. This TYC filter seems like a good buy.

That's the one I just used to replace mine. Seems like a good replacement. I was pretty shocked at how dirty the other one was but I'd bet it'd never been changed.

Replaced mine today with that TYC filter I mentioned earlier in the thread.

As you can see, my old one was toast and was long overdue for a change.
