Hey All. Some jerk ran me off the road when he started sliding all over the street and cut me off. Needless to say I ran into a median at an attempt to dodge him. Lily needs a new bumper. This is the result. How easy is it to buy the parts and replace it myself?

The bottom part looks like just pushed in. Try pulling it out by tapping from the rear. If it comes out then a bit of sanding and a shot of paint Honda spray paint should fix you up. If not then take it to a body shop or replace the bumper yourself.

 

Bumper cover removal and replacement on the Fit is easy. Take out the screws/bolts and push-pin clips (underneath, on top, and a couple of screws in the front fenders), and pull it free of the clips around the headlights. The fog light units also need transplanting. It's definitely doable by most any home mechanic, with the possible exception of color matching.

I also agree that you could probably patch up the old one if you're either not especially particular about a perfect result or if you're willing to take lots of time to get it nice and pretty.

In either case, it would be a good idea to check that none of the crush structure underneath ("Bumper Beam" according to the parts diagram) is crushed. I rather doubt that it is affected at all, but if it is, it also is not be hard to replace.

 

My Fit is a rebuilt one, so I've seen it being ripped apart and put together a few times, it's really simple to take off the front bumper on a GD, yours is a GE so I'm not a 100% sure but it shouldn't be too difficult. Here's a video that shows the bumper of a GE being removed.
Bumpers themselves cost like 150 bucks, unpainted. You can grab one from the junkyard for much less.
