I bought a locking gas cap because ours is so easily tampered with.

So how do i remove the tether on the stock gas cap? it is the little plastic cord that attaches on the fuel filler door

any help would be great thanks

 

Just take the head of a finishing nail, or some other long, thin object, and push up on the pin from the bottom, where the tether attaches to the fuel filler door. The tether will stay with your OEM gas cap, and doesn't fit the locking one.
