Door Lock Cylinder issues. Help!
Door Lock Cylinder issues. Help!
Hey guys! I just joined this sight and I'm excited to be here! So I'm sure you're all quite familiar with this problem so I will try to give you the short version. Just an FYI. I have a 2008 Honda Fit Base Model with a 5 speed manual transmission. The door lock cylinder on the front drivers side is toast, not working, or turning, or anything.
So I got down to the last step of removing the cylinder, but I was unable to get the pin(clip) loose that is behind the cylinder. So I have given up. Also, I just don't feel comfortable trying to get the door handle off to make it easier to remove and reinstall. Sooo...........
Question 1- Is it even possible to repair these cylinders and tumbler's in the first place? And if so could it be re-keyed back to the original key? Because I've heard it's not possible. Don't know if that's true or not?
Question 2- Is is possible to order a cheap keyless entry device off amazon that will work with this year and model of Fit?
Any help you guys can give me would be much appreciated! I really don't want to end up with two keys, and hopefully I can avoid having to pay a fortune at the dealership for a repair. Thanks guys and hope to hear from you!
