Lost control of the car and the bumpiness off being off road caused my '07 Fit Sport to pop its curtain airbag. I'm not going to file an insurance claim and will either just buy another one and sell it or repair it myself. Does anyone have experience with replacing these? I'm concerned about precautions and resetting the error lights on the dash once the repair is complete. Typically airbag lights can't be reset at home and I dont have experience with the Fit.
I'd love some information if anyone has any!

The best advice I've seen was something along these lines:
"Remember, airbags can be dangerous to work with. Don't blow your fool head off working on yours. If you don't know what you're doing, get an expert to do it; let him blow his fool head off."
I think the Fit is typical in that it needs something like the Honda diagnostic software to reset the system once a new airbag unit is installed. Should you decide to attempt this yourself, do be aware that replacement airbag units are among the more frequently counterfeited car parts, and the fake ones may be entirely inoperative. (Also, it would be good to verify that the seatbelt pretensioner doesn't also need replacement—and the seat belt itself, for that matter, if it was subjected to any significant stresses.)

Thanks Drew, looks like the car expected a rollover due to suspension turbulence and triggered the bag. Doesn't seem uncommon from the research I've done so far. Replacement process seems tedious.
