It sounds like I ran over a shopping cart.
Hey Guys! New member here. Thank you guys so much for all your knowledge. Google always brings me back to Fit Freak! I am also a new 2007 Fit LX owner, and a new driver at age 31. I know very little about cars but I knew I wanted a small one!
I need some help for what this could be. It sounds like I ran over a shopping cart. A metally rattly sound. I only hear it when I am idling, but it could be all the time I just might not hear it over the engine. I brought it into my local Honda dealer 2 weeks ago and they removed the heat shield since it was rusted out (for free yay). But as soon as I drove away I realized it was not fixed. I am bringing it back into the dealer but I am skeptical since they didn't fix it the first time

There is more than one part to the heat shield. Crawl under there (under the passenger side floor) and see if it still rattles. It only takes a crack (difficult to see) to make the noise.
When our Fit was new, we had a metallic rattle from the exhaust manifold heat shield. It was a loose grommet (appeared to be made of steel wool.) That is behind the engine.
As always, be careful poking around with a HOT engine. OUCH
+++++++++++++
Another contributor to the rattle might be a LF motor (transmission mount, actually). This would allow the drivetrain to move around more than normal.

I had Exactly the same metally rattly sound like U. In my case it was the cataliseur heat shield. It was totally rusty and it held only on 1 mounting spot from 4. I've ripped these heat shield totally off, and have no problem at all.
