Haalp part without a home after center console removal

I finally had to replace the fuel pump after years of the mrs running the tank to the lower limit with every fillup. Drop in replacement after professional diagnosis was a great success, however Im left with a small metal piece I can't seem to find a home for. I've watched the install/uninstall process countless times and took pictures during the uninstall but it's so small I'm having no luck. 2007 Fit Sport AT USA

My WAG ( Wild A** Guess):

Looks like a retaining tab of some kind. Did this come from the interior of the car, or you found it under the car after the repair?

If not for an electrical connection, a fuel line perhaps? Look at the old pump. If you smell gas stop quickly!!!!

I like that...WAG.

Here's mine...agree on the retaining clip or it could be a strengthening tab behind plastic. Maybe part of the cigarette lighter assembly on the back side? Or where the audio jack goes into the console? Other thought is it could insert into an area where a screw goes through plastic for support?

I changed our console out for the JDM with armrest, but that was too many years ago to remember all the details.

Definitely not anything related to the fuel pump directly as all those parts were delibarately separated and promptly replaced. Just from inside the center console. I haven't attempted starting the car yet just in case. Gas smell cleared after a few days. I think you're on to something with the accesory socket, it's gotta be from there, shift knob or handbrake. Long as it isn't a critical component somehow I'll figure it out.
