Q: Radiator fan and temperature

Does the radiator fan come on at a fixed temperature?

(I've tried searching the site, but "fan" isn't in the index.)

Yes, and according to my ScanGauge, it is around 200 degrees F. The highest temperature that I've ever seen, in hot weather - stuck in traffic, was 204.

I have the paper manual for my actual model. The fan circuit diagram includes a connection to the ECU and the troubleshooting sequence includes swapping the ECU, so it's not obvious that the fan thermostat is the only determinant.
