2019 Honda Fit EX high output alternator upgrade
2019 Honda Fit EX high output alternator upgrade
Im planning a dual amplifier Aftermarket audio system upgrade for my 2019 Honda Fit EX of about 1000 to 1400 watts or more if possible but I'm concerned that the factory 105 amp alternator won't be able to supply enough current for the audio system amplifier upgrades and the cars electrical system. I'm considering purchasing this Power Bastard high output alternator upgrade for the 2019 Honda Fit.
220A High Output Alternator for Honda Fit, 2017 - 2020 1.5L L4
However I'm concerned about what effect a aftermarket High output alternator will have on the cars electrical systems. Will it potentially cause any problems or damage? Apart from the Big Zero High Oitput Alternator wiring upgrade what else would I need to do or get?
I've never done this before so I have to be very sure that any High output alternator upgrade to the car won't do any expensive damage to the cars electronics. Can anyone please give me information on the aforementioned issues I'm concerned about.
Thank you

Do the group 51R battery upgrade if you haven't already. If that alternator gets anywhere near 220A, you're going to need a heavier gauge alternator charge lead and ground cables. I'm surprised it doesn't require some kind of serpentine belt upgrade. Run dedicated power and ground wires from the battery to your amps - the thickness of the sheet metal at the ground point becomes a limiting factor when trying to ground through the body.
