I think that the T1R is better, but it's so pricey, I cant afford it.

Question Fujita vs. T1R Intake

Based upon my own (so far) VERY BAD experience with the K & N intake for the Fit, I have followed all posts on the other intake systems closely. My impression is that the T1R system has better performance overall compared to the more simple design of the Fujita. And "better" is a relative term here. You may get a few more hp, may or may not get better gas mileage, and WILL get more noise from all of these systems.

Fujita is very inexpensive compared to T1R. But after paying $230.+ for the K & N fiasco, I now wish that I had spent the $300. or so for the T1R.

My own philosophy in buying mod. parts is, when you add parts to a car that were not part of its original design, you are better off buying the BEST, not the least expensive. That takes a lot of investigation, and it still opens you up to the possibility of being ripped off.

I like having the filter surrounded by a "heat shield" because that is the design that I have become used to. But it may be totally unnecessary and ineffective due to the lack of free space in the engine bay.

I would further suggest that the intake choice depends on your ultimate plans for the car. The T1R is a great intake for a stock engine...but I would suspect it may not perform as well for a all-out N/A high RPM engine. So if you plan to keep the thing relatively stock, it may be a good choice. It seems to maximize the engine's mid-range and gives better all-around throttle response from what I've read.

More good advice!

T1r Q

Does the T1R fit an A/T engine. Has anyone installed one yet on an A/T.

rcantu, did you have to build a heat shield & do you have a stock hood? Also what kind of headers or exhaust are you running. Thanks
